Goodbye Spain! June 30th

We woke up at 10 am which means we only got 3 hours of sleep. We got coffee and a chocolate croissant for breakfast. Yummy! Katie, Candice, and I went to the cathedral of Barcelona while Megan and Maggie went to an internet café. I really enjoyed the cathedral. It was gorgeous and really big. It had a square in the middle of it that opened up to the outside which I really enjoyed.

After that we went to la bocaria which is a fresh food market right off of Las Ramblas. Everything there was so fresh and smelled delicious. I had a fresh coconut and kiwi smoothie which was yummy. I also got strips of meat in a container that looked like a French fry container. You can get meat here like French fries! It was delicious. They had fresh meat, fruits, vegetables, and seafood. We saw some huge octopuses, and we even saw a lobster almost crawl off the table! Some lady ended up picking him up and putting him back, but that is how fresh they are. Still alive! We were trying to figure out why Spanish people are so healthy when they eat like this all the time and I think it is because everything they eat is super fresh. We did a little more shopping and wandering around then headed back to the ship. They couldn’t find one girl but I guess she was just napping in her cabin and forgot to swipe her I.D. So, good thing we didn’t leave anyone behind! Right when we got back on before leaving for Italy, we did the group picture and video at back of boat. I ended up skipping the video because we had to yell some stupid stuff, but you couldn’t see me in the picture anyways.  I really loved Spain and had a great time while I was here. I could definitely see myself coming back!

So, today is actually July 1st, and it is the sea Olympics. They divide the whole ship into different seas, and we compete against each other. I am in the Caribbean Sea, and I participated in the relay race. We won! Apparently we are in first place, but it won’t be over until later today. It is a little lame, but I guess it is something to do! Tomorrow is Italy! CANT WAIT!
